She has experience working with children, adolescents, and adults in clinical and research settings, with a focus on autism, ADHD, and learning differences. Dr. Yuji brings a thoughtful, strengths-based approach to each evaluation and is dedicated to helping clients better understand themselves through collaborative assessment.

Dr. Maya is a licensed clinical psychologist with extensive experience in autism evaluation, neurodiversity-affirming therapy, and caregiver support. She has worked in medical research centers, schools, and community-based programs, published numerous peer-reviewed research articles and book chapters on autism, and collaborates with the University of Hawai’i’s Center on Disability Studies in resesarch. Dr. Maya is especially passionate about serving neurodivergent individuals and their families with warmth, respect, and cultural sensitivity.

She has extensive experience implementing trauma-informed, compassionate ABA approaches, including Practical Functional Assessment (PFA) and Skill-Based Treatment (SBT), to safely reduce severe behavior and build adaptive skills. With nearly 20 years of experience, she focuses on bridging research and practice by empowering caregivers to use effective, evidence-based strategies in everyday environments.
